MacBook Pro Performance?

WoodWare - MacBook Pro Performance Analysis

The must striking thing about the performance of the MacBook Pro is that it almost equals that of the PowerMac G5. Really does justify the move to Intel as far as I’m concerned. Can’t wait to use one.

The switch to Intel was mainly about laptop performance. The G4 just doesn't cut the mustard when you throw a ton of data at it.

I don't think the new PowerMacs will have Core Duo however. They'll get the next generation along that is due at the end of the year.

This brings another thought to mind. How many cpu flavours will Apple use? They're spoilt for choice compared with the PowerPC range. Already the MacBook Pro has had a Mhz speed jump up and it's only just been released!

Welcome to the fast moving world of x86 processors Apple users!

Yes, for sure.

I should be getting a MacBook within the next month, so I can give my true thoughts then.
